Mark Joseph Micolo Jr is a predator that was caught in a Monroe County, Michigan investigation of Takedown with Chris Hansen.

Biography

At the time of the sting, Micolo had been living in Troy/Sterling Heights, Michigan. He was unemployed but occasionally did construction on the side and coached hockey for twelve-year-olds.

Chat

Micolo had been communicating with a decoy posing as a fifteen-year-old girl. During the chat, Micolo told the decoy that he did not believe that she was fifteen, saying that he had never seen an escort that age. After the decoy informed him of her age, Micolo sent a picture of his erect penis and told her that it was eight inches in length. Micolo referred to himself as "daddy," telling the decoy, "It's okay, daddy's got you."

When talking about what he wanted sexually, Micolo told the decoy that he wanted to "stretch that pussy." The decoy told him not to be rough on her, to which Micolo responded, "I won't baby. You gon' love me." He then asked if the minor girl had any lingerie or sex toys. When told that she does not, Micolo called her a "poor thing" then assured her that he would bring a brand new sex toy that he recently purchased. This toy was a small glass object that was intended for anal penetration. Micolo also expressed that he could not wait to "eat [the decoy's] pussy."

Micolo, in order to verify the decoy's identity, asked her to take a picture holding a piece of paper with the date and a phrase written on it. The words written on it were:

"I want your BIG cock in my tight pussy 4-26-24"

Sting

When Micolo arrived to the hotel used for the sting, he got lost and could not find the room, requiring him to call the decoy for directions. He asked the decoy to prop a side door of the hotel open for him, but it managed to close before he got there. Micolo was worried about going through the lobby to the room. He eventually made it to the room and was quickly apprehended by deputies. While they were restraining him, Micolo screamed and cried, "No! My life's over!" Deputies repeatedly tried asking for the passcode to his phone, but he refused to tell them, instead preferring to tell them that he was going to kill himself.

During the Chris Hansen interview, Micolo stated that his plan for being there was "sex." Despite previously stating that his life was over and that he was going to kill himself, Micolo claimed that he had no idea how old the decoy said she was. Chris told Micolo that he had the transcripts, to which Micolo responded, "When she said she was fifteen, it wasn't a joke?" Chris had not mentioned the decoy's age before Micolo stated that. Micolo claimed that he would not have showed up if he knew that it was not a joke. He also claimed that he believed she was joking because he jokingly told her that he was sixteen in the same chat. Micolo later claimed that he never even saw the message where the decoy said her age because he was not paying attention.

Micolo brought lingerie for the minor girl, claiming that he previously bought it on Amazon for a different girl but no longer wanted it at his house and found that this was a good opportunity to get rid of it. He also brought the small glass butt plug toy and money ($200) with which to pay for sex. When asked what should happen to him, Micolo said, "I wish nothing, but I know everything." Micolo told Chris that if police had not been there, he likely would have had sex with a fifteen-year-old girl, but that he would not have known it.

Aftermath

Mark Micolo was charged with:

1. Child Sexually Abusive Activity
2. Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes
3. Using a Computer to Commit a Crime

Micolo's bond was set at $250,000, however it was later lowered to $50,000, which he posted. In a plea agreement, Micolo pled guilty to Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes in exchange for the other two charges being dropped. He was given credit for time served and sentenced to five years of probation with a requirement to register on the Michigan Sex Offender Registry. He is expected to be released from probation on January 16, 2030.
