Brian Russell Jenkinson is an alleged predator caught in a Genesee County, Michigan investigation of Takedown with Chris Hansen.
Biography[]
At the time of the sting, Jenkinson lived in Lapeer, Michigan. He worked in construction, building roads and working on asphalt. Jenkinson has three children. At the time, they were 22, 7, and 13 years of age. He was unable to see his thirteen-year-old daughter for unknown reasons. Jenkinson has an extensive criminal history, with arrests for Attempted Larceny, Attempted Breaking and Entering, Identity Theft, and Theft of a Financial Transaction Device. He was also charged in Arizona with Assault Causing Injury and Disorderly conduct, although those charges were dismissed.

Jenkinson had been communicating with a decoy posing as a fifteen-year-old girl. He messaged the decoy several months prior in a separate operation, but that conversation never materialized. After learning of the decoy's age, Jenkinson requested a photo of her to confirm that she was real. He was not satisfied with the picture sent so he requested that a new photo be taken showing the decoy holding up a piece of paper with the current date. He received the requested picture. During a phone call with a decoy, Jenkinson agreed to pay her $100 to have penetrative sex and to receive oral sex. When he was told the address of the sting house, Jenkinson asked the decoy if she was affiliated with law enforcement, saying, "I just don't want you trying to set me up." Jenkinson also agreed to smoke marijuana with the decoy. In a second phone call with the decoy, Jenkinson confirmed his intention to smoke marijuana with her. He also asked her to meet him outside.
Sting[]
When Jenkinson arrived at the sting house, he asked the decoy if she wanted to smoke marijuana "before [he] took off on [his] ride." Jenkinson appeared nervous and only stood in front of the open front door while talking to the decoy. Jenkinson told Chris Hansen that he was 29 years old, but was actually 39. After a brief conversation about the weather and the motorcycle that Jenkinson drove in on, Chris questioned him about the chat log. Jenkinson claimed that he only intended to smoke marijuana with the minor girl, but that she started "talking all weird and sh*t" in the chat.
Jenkinson requested that he smoke a cigarette inside of the house. After being told that he could not, Jenkinson asked if he could smoke outside. Again, his request was denied by Chris. Despite this, Jenksinson put a cigarette in his mouth and began to walk toward the door. He was quickly apprehended by awaiting deputies. Jenksinson repeatedly pulled his head away from a deputy trying to take the cigarette out of his mouth, but eventually it was taken.
Chris began reading further from the chat log where Jenkinson talked about "suck and f***." Jenkinson denied ever saying anything sexual to the decoy. Instead, Jenkinson blamed the decoy, claiming that she was the one talking about sexual acts. He also defended himself by saying that, despite the decoy stating her age, she never mentioned it again after that. Jenkinson's story was that he changed his intentions after learning of the decoy's age from wanting to have sex to only wanting to smoke marijuana with her. In an effort to prove this point, Jenkinson told Chris, "I even tried to get her to come outside to smoke." Chris questioned, even if that was true, why Jenkinson would meet a minor girl to share a marijuana blunt with. Jenkinson responded that there was nothing wrong with minors smoking marijuana, stating, "If she smokes, she smokes." Chris asked if Jenkinson would allow a grown man to meet his thirteen-year-old daughter with the intention of smoking marijuana with her, and Jenkinson responded that he would be fine with it so long as she informed him. He expressed more concern about his daughter bringing a stranger into the house than about a grown man meeting his daughter alone.
Jenkinson denied having messaged the decoy several months prior. He also told Chris that he knew several people who have been arrested for soliciting minors, but did not explain how that helped his point. Throughout the interview, Jenkinson maintained his story. He promised Chris, "I wear to God on my F***ing child's life." Jenkinson claimed to have been "set up" by police and by Chris. He repeatedly accused Chris of "putting words in [his] mouth."

Brian Jenkinson was charged with:
- Child Sexually Abusive Activity
- Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes
- Using a Computer to Commit a Crime (x2)[1]
As of May, 2025, he is still fighting his charges.
